SPACE-301

Description

SPACE-301 is a 3D jet plane shooter game developed during the 7-day GameJamPlus event open to all Indonesian citizens. The game features a casual theme where players control a jet to destroy endless waves of meteors and enemy planes while avoiding incoming obstacles. A scoreboard tracks player progress and skills.

Job description

As the programmer, I implemented various gameplay mechanics specified by the game design. I learned how to customize particle effects in Unity, ensuring that particles matched the size of larger meteors through various adjustments. I was also responsible for programming the jet movement mechanics, rotation for targeting meteors, and different spawn patterns for meteors and enemy planes. Additionally, I created UI elements such as start screens, loading, main menu, name entry, and scoreboard.

Jet Movement and Control

Provides smooth, responsive movement for the jet, allowing the player to navigate and dodge obstacles effectively.

Meteor Destruction and Particle Effects

Destroys meteors on impact and releases particles sized to match the meteors for a satisfying visual effect.

Meteor Spawning System

Randomly generates meteors of various sizes and rotations to create diverse and unpredictable challenges.

Enemy Plane Spawning and Missile Attack

Spawns enemy planes in unique patterns, each capable of firing missiles at the player's jet to increase difficulty.

UI Navigation

Includes start screen, main menu, loading screen, name entry, and scoreboard to guide players through the game interface.
